BLISS FAQ’s – All you need to know!

Q: What are the Mas Camp’s opening hours?

Our Mas Camp is open from Monday to Friday 12pm-6pm. We are closed on weekends and public holidays

Q: Where can I view BLISS’ costumes?

Costumes may be viewed via our online galleries at www.blisscarnival.com.

Q: When is costume registration for the new carnival year?

Costume registration takes place during the August prior to Carnival. Phase 1 of registration will be through a designated BLISS committee member or BLISS Marketing Affiliates. Phase 2 of registration with be for Past BLISS Masqueraders (subject to availability). For assistance with registration, please email info@blisscarnival.com.

Q: How do I sign up for Carnival 2024?

Unforunately BLISS is sold out and we are no longer taking costume orders.

Q: What do I need for costume registration?

A: For registration, you need the following:

Size Information

  • Ladies:  Bra Type and Size (same as your current bra size ex. 30A, 34C, 38DD) Bottom
  • Ladies: Bottom Piece option – (e.g. S, M, L)
  • Men:  Waist Size (in inches – your pants size)

Downpayment

Backline and Males TT$2,500 (US$400), Frontline TT$3,500 (US$560). Customers ordering Large or X-Large Backpacks will be required to pay an additional TT$2,000 (US$320)

Q: Can I order extra pieces for my costume?

A: Costumes may come with options for larger headpieces, backpacks, and other embellishments at an additional cost. These options will be detailed on the registration page and in the section photo galleries, along with the cost.

Q: When is my costume downpayment required?

A:  Downpayments are due within 5 days of registration. You can pay with a credit card online (VISA and Mastercard ONLY) or at our showroom located at 18 Rosalino Street, Woodbrook Monday to Friday 12-6pm.

Q: Can I make my downpayment at a later date?

A: Carnival costumes are made to order – only costumes with downpayments are put into production.

Q: What is the Revel Male costume?

A: When choosing a male costume some sections have Revel options. The 2024 Revel package includes shorts, either a tshirt or tank, a souvenir hat and branded socks.

Q: What is the male pants design?

A: Male costumes are easily replicated, and the design of our Male Board Shorts, Souvenir Vest, and Hat are not released in advance. The base colour of the Male Pants will match the colour shown in the section’s male costume picture.


Q: I did not get a costume… Can I be placed on a waiting list?

A: Unfortunately, BLISS does not maintain a waiting list for costumes.

Q: I’m unable to collect my costume… Can another person collect on my behalf?

A: Once the distribution schedule is released, you are then able to assign a delegate via the Mas X app. This person must walk with a valid form of ID and your QR code to collect.

Q: When do I collect my costume?

A: The costume collection schedule will be emailed to all masqueraders, and posted on our website and social media. Different sections will have different distribution dates. The final date of costume distribution is Carnival Thursday (subject to change), after which all uncollected costumes are no longer available.

Q: I missed my collection date – what do I do?

A: You can collect your costume on any day after your designated date, however, priority is given to persons collected on their designated day.

Q: When do I need to pay for my costume?

A: Your downpayment must be paid upon registration, otherwise your order will be incomplete and immediately cancelled. Costumes must be paid in full by January 31st, 2024. Masqueraders can also make advance payments at BLISS’ Mas Camp (Cash & LINX only) and online via Credit Card (Visa & MasterCard) through our registration website. For online registrations, payments must be made within 24 hours of booking.

All costumes must be paid in full before collection as our distribution centers are payment free.

Q: How can I pay for my costume?

A: BLISS accepts Cash and LINX in-house, and Credit Card (Visa & MasterCard) online through our registration website. Cheques are not accepted for payment.

Q: I’ve collected my costume but it does not fit.

A: Costumes are all custom-made to the measurements verified during the registration process, please ensure you have the correct information when booking.

Q: What do I get when I come to Costume Distribution?

A: You will receive your Costume Package, a BLISS Goody Bag, filled with carnival essentials, your BLISS Wristband. Your costume is not complete without a wristband and masqueraders not wearing their wristbands will be removed from the band.

Q: I have a comment/complaint – who do I speak to?

Q: I have not been receiving emails from BLISS… what can I do?

A: Please send an email to info@blisscarnival.com with your information so that we can update our records with your correct email address. We will send a confirmation once your address has been updated.

Q: Who are BLISS’S affiliates?

A: BLISS is affiliated with Red Ants, Ultimate Events Ltd., TRIBE Carnival, The Lost Tribe,  Harts Carnival, ROGUE Carnival, PURE Carnival, Mad J’Ouvert, among others.  Please visit the ‘Masquerader Info’ page for a list of affiliates.  Please do not be fooled by any other groups posing as BLISS partners.

Q: I forgot my password, what do I do?

A: Please use the ‘Forgot Your Password’ feature on your account login page.

Q: I would like to play as a character/individual for Carnival – who do I contact?

A: Please email the Mas Camp at info@blisscarnival.com or contact the Mas camp for information on individual costumes.

Q: I would like to design my own costume to play with BLISS?

A: Unfortunately, due to constraints with our band size, BLISS does not allow masqueraders to design their own costumes.

Q: Does BLISS provide Monday wear?

A: BLISS does not provide Monday Wear, and encourages our masqueraders to make their wristband easily visible to ensure easy recognition by our Security Team.

Q: Where is my section in the band lineup?

A: The band lineup is published in the Member’s Guide which masqueraders receive at costume distribution.  The band lineup is based on a variety of factors and hence cannot be determined at the time of registration.

Q: I’m interested in providing a service / becoming a sponsor of BLISS – who do I contact?

A: Please email our Band Leader with your proposal at info@blisscarnival.com

Q: Can my husband/wife jump in the band?

A: BLISS only allows paying masqueraders to jump in the band.  Non-masqueraders may observe from the sidelines outside the band, however, they will not be allowed to participate.

Q: Can I play in BLISS if I’m playing in another band?

A: All Carnival Bands in our group are separate bands with separate routes.  Masqueraders cannot switch between bands.

Q: What music is played on the road?

A: BLISS offers a variety of DJs with different styles to appeal to every masquerader.  Each truck features a different DJ group.

Q: Where does the band meet?

A: The starting point is located in Port of Spain – be sure to check your Member’s Guide (published during Costume Distribution) for specifics!

Q: What time does Mas begin?

A: The band departs at 10am on Carnival Monday and 7am on Carnival Tuesday.  The band also breaks for lunch on both days at a designated rest stop.

Q: When is Trinidad Carnival?

A: Trinidad Carnival 2024 takes place on Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th February, 2024.
